League Entertainment and science fiction author Adam-Troy Castro have teamed up to produce "two funny, snarky, illustrated guides to all things undead." The two books have been purchased by Diane Gill of Eos, in a deal handled by agent Eddie Schneider at the JABerwocky Literary Agency. The two books - Z is for Zombie and V is for Vampire - will be penned by Castro with cover and interior art by Johnny Atomic.
Castro has been nominated for the Nebula, Hugo and Stoker awards. The Atomic One is the Artistic Director for League Entertainment and has worked on Artix Entertainment's The Art of MechQuest and is the cover artist for an upcoming issue of IDW's Fallen Angel comic book series. Mr. Atomic is also the cover artist for an upcoming novel by fantasy author Richard Lee Byers.
Earlier this year Artix Entertainment, the creators of Mechquest and Adventure Quest, asked the League to assist them in the production of their new book, The Art of Mechquest. Every decade or so a super tough new hero or heroine appears and sticks; becomes part of the public consciousness. It was like that with Lara Croft and almost happened with Sky Captain. It even happened twice for James Bond. I’m not psychic, or even particularly hip but I think it may happen again soon with Adam-Troy Castro’s new uber-bad protagonist Andrea Cort.
Cort is all business in the mind bending sci-fi masterpiece "The Third Claw of God". She is the least likeable person in a galaxy of unlikeables. The difference is she doesn’t delude herself. As Prosecutor at Large for the Confederacy’s Diplomatic Corps, Cort cannot afford to make many friends and vengeful enemies are just part of the job. Through Andrea Cort’s eyes, Castro shows us intriguing alien races, world-raping corporations, weapons too foul to describe and minds fouler still willing to commit any atrocity to further their own sick agendas. And that is just the first chapter.
"The Third Claw of God" is the follow up to what is easily the most original sci-fi novel of the last five years, Emissaries from the Dead. The third installment is being written even as I type this review and I hope it will be in stores by next year.

MegaCon 2009 was held last weekend in Orlando with much fanfare. Among the guests were the League's very own Stan Morrison, Mike Conrad, M.B. Weston and Ana Bruno. As always, they all had a great time meeting their fans and spending time with their peers. We are proud to announce that Johnny Atomic has been appointed to the Hillsborough County Public Art Committee! This Committee acts in the public interest on all matters relating to the Public Art Ordinance including the selection, placement, and maintenance of works of public art throughout the County. The Committee and its staff are responsible for the administration and planning of the Public Art Program, and the curatorship of the County's Public Art Collection. Members and staff serve as countywide liaisons to the public art community.
